Taipei City - 上海邵師傅湯包

Value for money: 10/10
Cleanliness: 7/10
Service: 10/10
Quality of food: 8/10
Overall: 8/10

This area is a fairly popular area in Taipei right near URBN culture and also Whalen's, Carniegie's and the ever popular TongHua Nightmarket.

It's a modest place, with no frills needed or given.

I really enjoy menu's like this: Not too big, straight to the point.

--------------------------------------------------------

What we ordered:

Steamed pork soup dumplings
鮮肉小籠包
xiān ròu xiǎo lóng bāo
$60

I can't believe these are only $60?! You get 8 of them in your bamboo steamer.

The skin is most definitely thicker than the DingTaiFeng steamed soup dumplings, but these still taste delicious.

Crunchy curry pot sticker dumplings

脆皮黃金咖哩湯包
cuì pí huáng jingā lī 1 tāng bāo
$90

How appealing does that crunchy base look?

Basically the same thing as the steamed soup dumplings, but these ones are fried with a crunchy skin on the bottom (and with a curry filling). The curry is mild but imparts a nice fragrant flavour. They are so rewarding to crunch apart.
